The Les Paul
One of the landmarks in music history, guitar legend and musical innovator Les Paul was working at the old Epiphone factory in New York City when he dreamt of the first solid body electric guitar. He spent 15 years developing his instrument, and in the late 50’s, the Gibson and Ephiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan created the very first Les Paul Standard. Early on it garnered the attention of Rolling Stones’ guitarists Keith Richards and Eric Clapton of Cream, as it was capable of sustain and overdriven tones not possible in other instruments at the time. Over 60 years later it’s continues to attract musicians from season professionals to young, budding rock stars.
