Fender’s new American Performer Mustang Bass has been 50+ years in the making. Revisiting the retro vibe and outfitting it with advanced modern components, Fender’s unique, short-scale four-stringer features a split-coil Yosemite pickup based on original 1970s drawings in the middle, and a single-coil Yosemite on the bridge, both with flat-staggered pole pieces and Greasebucket circuitry for rich, dynamic tone. The solid maple neck is carved to a “Modern C” profile and features a 19-fret, 9.5-radius rosewood fingerboard that comfortably suits virtually any playing style or body type, making it more fun to ride than ever before.
Founded by Leo Fender in 1938 as Fender’s Radio Service, what is now the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation began making electric guitars and amplifiers in 1945. The rest, as they say, is history. Creator of the world’s first mass-produced, and by far most popular, solid-bodied electric, Fender is now the world’s leading guitar manufacturer.
The Fender American Performer Series makes American-made quality accessible to every player. Six new models, handcrafted in Corona, California, highlight the traditional design of Fender’s most celebrated guitars, while adding new innovations and modern components to enhance tone, performance, and feel.
