Body Details: Fully hollow body with maple back, sides, and top. Double bound body with bound F-holes. There is a “2” marked in the neck pocket which indicates the bass is a factory second. This is likely from the output jack initially being drilled in the wrong location; there is a plugged hole next to the output jack, which is covered by the original finish.

Neck Details: Bolt-on maple neck with bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, block inlays, and heel adjust truss rod. There are two small shims underneath the heel in the neck pocket. The heel stamp is partially illegible, but appears to read “18JUN67B.”

Cosmetic Condition: The bass shows normal wear for its age; the finish is glossy with areas of hazing and multiple small blemishes throughout. There are several small dings on the front and back of the body, mostly along the bottom edge. The back of the body has some light buckle rash with finish wear as well. The neck is smooth and there is light wear around the edges of the headstock.

Tech Notes: Currently set up with flat wound strings and medium-low action. The neck has a slight twist resulting in an S-curve on the bass side, as well as some light relief higher on the neck. The bass has been set up to accommodate these factors and plays well in this condition. The frets are narrow and moderately low with minor wear. The bass is likely a factory second, resulting from an incorrectly located output jack which was fixed and finished over at the factory; there is a “2” marked in the neck pocket. The heel stamp and serial number date the bass to 1967.
