Neck Details: Bolt-on maple neck with unbound rosewood veneer fretboard, dot inlays, and heel-adjust truss rod. The neck heel has a “17 JUN 71” stamp (the final letter in the stamp is illegible).

Electronics: Original single coil pickup and volume pot with 1971 date code. The tone control has been replaced.

Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Fender Musicmaster bass has aged nicely, with consistent light checking and small dings on the glossy body finish. There is a slight crack at the bottom pickguard screw, and the back of the body has some heavier scratches. The back of the neck is smooth and nicely worn.

Modifications/Repairs: Replaced tone pot

Tech Notes: The bass plays well with medium action, and light gauge strings. The neck has some inconsistencies from age, but the bass has been set up to play cleanly and comfortably. The heel stamp, pot code, and serial number date the bass to 1971.
