Summary

Finish: The body and fingerboard have been refinished by Clive Brown. The finish on the back of the neck and headstock face is original.

Neck Details: Bolt-on maple neck and fingerboard with dot inlays. The neck has been refretted, the nut has been replaced, and the fingerboard has been refinished. A pencil date of “7-57” is present on the heel.

Electronics: Original pickups with master volume, neck tone, and middle/bridge tone controls. A five-way selector switch has been installed. Two pot codes date to 1958 and the other dates to 1956. Solder joints have been touched up. The original three-position switch is included in the case.

Pickup Measurements: Neck 6.27K, Middle 6.20K, Bridge 5.80K

Hardware: The high E tuner has been replaced, all other hardware is original. The trem cavity cover is missing.

Weight: 7 lbs 3 oz

Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is in good condition with a combination of play-wear consistent with age, and the relic. The original finish on the neck is weather-checked, glossy, and worn, with dings throughout. The hardware has a strong patina.

Modifications/Repairs: The body and fingerboard have been refinished by Clive Brown. Clive Brown has stamped “CB 3-2017” into the wood in the output jack cavity. The neck has been refretted, and the nut has been replaced. A five-way selector switch has been installed, and some solder joints have been touched up. The high E tuning machine has been replaced.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. The frets are wide and tall, with mild surface wear. The serial number, neck pencil date, and body pencil date all date to 1957.
