Body Details: One piece laminated maple back, maple sides, and spruce top. There are extra holes in the bottom of the body from a previously installed tailpiece.

Neck Details: Maple neck with bound ebony fingerboard and block inlays. There is an extra hole in the heel from a previously installed strap button.

Electronics: Patent number pickups with three-position selector switch, and dedicated volume and tone controls for each pickup. The wiring harness is original, and the pickups have been replaced.

Pickup Measurements: Neck 7.39K, Bridge 7.89K

Hardware: The bridge has been replaced with a later 1960’s patent stamped Gibson ABR-1 bridge. The strap buttons have also been replaced. The neck pickup mounting screws have been replaced. All other hardware is original. The bridge base is Brazilian rosewood. A newer Byrdland tail piece is included in the case.

Cosmetic Condition: This vintage guitar is in good condition with wear consistent with its age. The finish is weather-checked and hazy. There are scratches, dents, and dings throughout. There is notable finish wear on the back of the neck from play. The original pieces of hardware have a strong patina. There is an extra hole in the heel from a previously installed strap button. There are extra holes in the bottom of the body from a previously installed tailpiece.

Modifications/Repairs: The bridge has been replaced with a later 1960’s patent stamped Gibson ABR-1 bridge. The strap buttons have also been replaced. The neck pickup mounting screws have been replaced. The pickups have been replaced. There are extra holes drilled underneath the tail piece at the butt of the guitar from a pre-existing replacement tailpiece install. One hole is visible below the strap button.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action. The frets are wide and low, with moderate wear. The serial number dates to 1960, and the one-piece back and pointed cutaway are consistent with a 1960 manufacture date. No pot codes are visible.
